GAMES RULES

 

DARTS

 

A Height of Board 5ft 8ins.    Length of throw 7ft 9.25ins at floor Level.

 

B:   The 20 Segment must always be black in colour.

 

C:   The match will be decided over Seven Games,  each game to be the best of three.

 

D:   Players may be told the remaining score by the Marker only at any stage throughout the game, but may not be told how to finish by anyone present at the Match.

 

E:   BDO. Rules apply.

 

F:   All Darts Boards MUST be in Good Playable Condition.

 

G:  All Darts must be thrown from behind the oche.  If a player oversteps the oche it is the Captains duty to ask the player to throw from the correct mark for subsequent throws.  Players may only be told before or after the player has thrown so not to interrupt the player’s action.

      In the event of a dispute Rule 5 of the League General Rules will apply.

 

CRIB

 

A:  Each Game will be over 4 streets    {121 Holes}

 

B:  The match will consist of Three Games.

 

C:  It will be the Home Teams responsibility for the condition of the playing cards.

 

D:  If a player plays out of turn or a wrong card is played then the card involved will be returned to the pack and will not be counted in the score.

 

E:  If a player reneges then that game only will be awarded to the opposing team.

 

F:  All players must sign scoresheets before the start of the game.

 

DOMINOES

 

A:  Each Game will be over  3 streets  { 91 Holes } and will be a Dead Hole Finish.

 

B:  The match will consist of  Three games.

 

C:  Players cannot go out on their drop.

 

D:  Both players to play all dominoes before the hand is completed.

 

E:  Any player indulging in foul play will lose their next drop and will be asked by the opposing team to either make the offending team to peg back 4 holes or the opposing team will peg forward 4 holes.

 

F:  Any domino played which will not go at either end will be discarded into the pack of spare dominoes, the opposing team will ask the offending team to either peg back 4 holes or they will peg forward 4 holes.

 

G:  If a player plays a domino that will not go at the end played but will go at the other end he will be allowed to place the same domino at the correct end.

 

H:  All dominoes not played shall be shown at the end of each hand, and if on the turn of the dominoes or during the coarse of play any player found to be holding a domino which could have been played when he/she knocked then the game will be awarded to the opposing team.

 

I:  If a stalemate occurs there will be no score for the lowest bone.

 

J:  All players must sign scoresheets before the start of the game.


LEAGUE GENERAL RULES

 

1:  Each player must register by signing his/her name on the official signing on sheet.  The deadline for signing on for the league and for the league sheets to be handed in will be announced by the committee at the A.G.M  No other signings on will be accepted after the deadline set by the committee.   Deadline for all Individuals and pairs will be announced by the committee at the A.G.

 

PLEASE NOTE:  Players who sign on for the league sign on for all games that are played in the League.

 

2:  Any team playing an UNREGISTERED player/players will be liable to a fine of £25 per unregistered player and the match in which the player/players were involved will be awarded to the opposing team in the following manner  DARTS 4-3  DOMINOES 2-1 CRIB 2-1.

 

3:  No player will be allowed to play for more than one team in the league in any one season.  If any player has signed on for more than one team in a season he/she will only be allowed to play for the team he/she plays for on their  first game in the season.

 

4:  All monthly meetings will be held on the First Sunday of each month.   Venues for each meeting will be drawn at the previous meeting from the teams registered with the league.  Meetings will commence at 12 Midday, All teams MUST NOT miss more than two meetings in any one season.  The committee reserves the right to alter the date and venue of the meetings when appropriate to the general running of the league.

 

5:  COMPLAINTS PROCEDURE: The league secretary MUST be informed of any complaint within 48hrs of the event taking place.  This must be followed up in writing within five days of the event and accompanied by a fee of £5 returnable if the complaint is upheld.

FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THIS PROCEDURE WILL RENDER THE COMPLAINT INADMISSIBLE.

The committee will deal with complaints; all parties involved in the complaint will be duly notified of when the complaint is being dealt with and must make themselves available to attend the meeting.    If after all the facts of the complaint have been put before the committee the decision reached by the committee will be FINAL and BINDING to all concerned.

 

6:  Certificates can be won for 180s in Darts and 28 or 29 hands at crib in all games {League Matches, Individuals, Pairs, Team Knockout and Vic Podmore Shield}

 

7:  No player who is under 18yrs of age can become a member of the Stalybridge 501 League.

 

8:  In the event of registered player/players being barred from a pub/club within the league it is up to the Landlord/Landlady/Steward of the pub/club involved if the barred player/players will be allowed in on match nights to play their game.

 

9:  ALL TEAMS MUST CONDUCT THEMSELVES IN A SPORTING AND PROPER MANNER, TEAMS WILL BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THE BEHAVIOUR OF THEIR SUPPORTERS WHETHER THEY ARE SIGNED ON PLAYERS OR NOT.   PENALTY FOR BREACH OF THIS RULE RESTS IN THE DISCRETION OF THE ELECTED COMMITTEE WHOSE DECISION WILL BE FINAL AND BINDING TO ALL CONCERNED.

 

10:  In the event of a tie for league positions at the end of the season aggregate of the games won will decide the final positions.  In the event of teams finishing with equal points and aggregate then a playoff will be played at a neutral venue to decide the positions.

 

11:  In the event of a team resigning or being expelled from the league ALL played matches will be declared void.    If a team leaves or is expelled in the second half of the season only the games played in the second half of the season will be declared void.

 

12:  The conduct and business of the league shall rest with the elected committee whose decision in all matters will be FINAL AND BINDING FOR ALL CONCERNED.

 

13:  Any team who is one month in arrears with their league fees and fails to make payments up to date at the next meeting will be expelled from the league.

 

14:  All Main trophies remain the property of the Stalybridge 501 League.

 

15:  All main trophies are the responsibility of the recipients to maintain them in a good and clean condition.  Failure to abide with this rule will result in the recipients incurring a charge to cover cleaning and/or repair costs.  Any Trophies lost the recipient of the trophy will have to pay the full price of the replacement trophy.

 16:  EXTRAORDINARY MEETINGS.   If any extraordinary meeting is called then there MUST be a minimum of 60% attendance before the meeting can proceed.

 

17:  A MAXIMUM OF TWO REPRESENTATIVES FROM EACH TEAM WILL BE ALLOWED TO ATTEND MEETINGS.

 

18: the elected committee will deal with all matters arising that are not covered by the existing rules.

 

 

 

LEAGUE FIXTURES RULES

 

 

1:  Draw for Darts to take place at 8-45pm.  Any drawn player/players not at the venue by 9-00pm will be unable     to take part in the match.   Unless an arrangement between captains as been confirmed.

 

2:  All games to start at 9-00pm PROMPT.  Each team must have a minimum number of players present to complete all opening games. (Games can be started before 9-00pm if both teams have players available)

 

3:  Any  team  Who have less than seven  players present on the night, will be allowed to draw a player from all the players present on the night to fill the vacant games .  This only applies to the team that is short of players present .

 

PLEASE NOTE:  All signed on players present must be entered into the draw. Teams with  seven or more players  present must draw for darts in the usual way.

 

4: Dart players will be required to be drawn before the commencement of games.

 

5:  All fixtures MUST be played on the dates stated on the fixture list provided.

 

6:  All games MUST be played to fulfil the fixture.

 

7:  Failure to fulfil fixtures will result in the forfeiture of the offending teams bond.

 

8:  Any team failing to turn up for a fixture will forfeit the match and 2 points will be deducted from all three tables {darts, dominoes, crib}.   The non-offending team will be awarded 2 points per match only.  All players from the non-offending team MUST sign all appropriate scoresheets.    FAILURE TO SIGN THE SHEETS WILL RESULT IN A VOID MATCH.

 

9:  If any team fails to turn up on more than one occasion in a season then a fine will be imposed the amount to be decided by the elected committee whose decision will be final and binding to those concerned.

 

10:  If any game is claimed then the player/players involved in claiming the game MUST sign the scoresheet FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THIS RULE WILL RESULT IN A VOID GAME.

 

11:  All scoresheets {3 in total} must be posted using the envelopes provided to the Fixtures Secretary by Friday of the same week.   Penalty for late scoresheets is a fine of £5 plus a further £5 for every subsequent week late until the fixtures secretary has received the scoresheet.  The fine for late scoresheets will also apply if partial sheets have been received.   If after a small amount of time the scoresheets have not been received then the fixtures secretary will issue a late scoresheet form to both the teams involved who will have 1 week to return them to the fixtures secretary. If the fixtures secretary does not receive them after the allotted time the game will be declared void.

 

12:  The Fixtures Secretary MUST receive score sheets from each game.

IT IS THE HOME TEAMS RESPONSIBILITY TO FORWARD THEM TO THE FIXTURES SECRETARY.

THE HOME TEAMS SCORESHEETS MUST BE SIGNED & PRINTED BY EACH PLAYER.

 

13:  Result may be forwarded to the Fixtures Secretary by E Mail on Attwood1949@aol.com.   Scoresheets then to be handed in at the next League meeting.  Failure to Hand in ALL relevant Scoresheets at The meeting will result in the terms laid down in Rule 11 applied from the Fixtures date.

 

14:  Non-participating players must not interfere with any game in progress {NON PLAYERS OFF THE GREEN} the only exception to this rule is explained in the following rule 14.

 

15:  In the event of a foul move or dispute it will be initially up to the players concerned to come to an agreement within the rules.  If this is not possible then the Captains should be called in to assist.  If agreement is still not forthcoming then the Fixtures Secretary must be contacted to make a ruling.  If the Fixtures Secretary is unavailable then another member of the committee should be contacted and whose decision will be final and binding to all concerned.

 

16:  LEAGUE GENERAL RULE 9 APPLIES THROUGHOUT THE SEASON.

 

 

 

 

INDIVIDUAL & PAIRS COMPETITION RULES

 

1:  All Individuals and Pairs will be played over the season on a rounds format. Last eight in each competition going through to the Finals Night.

 

2:  Venues will be drawn from existing League members.  Before allocation of venues for all Competitions the record of the teams performance within the League will be concidered by the committee.  This record shall consist of the following items: Prompt payment of league fees, Attendance at meetings, prompt returning of league scoresheets, Only teams meeting with the criteria stated will be eligible to be considered for venues.

 

3:  To determine which players play at each venue, names will be drawn and placed at the venue in order of draw and irrespective whether home venue or not.

 

4:  In the event of players/player not being able to attend their designated matches then the Fixtures Secretary MUST be notified not less than 48hrs before the time of the event.   Notification in less than 48hrs will be regarded as a failure to attend and the set fine will be imposed.

 

INDIVIDUAL & PAIRS COMPETITION RULES CONTINUED

 

 

5:  Matches can be rearranged with the consent of both sets of players and the Fixtures Secretary has been informed.  Rearranged games MUST be played before the Draw for the next round.

 

6:  Players involved in any of the competitions MUST be at the venue and registered by the official start time. Anyone who is going to be late MUST contact the venue and inform the venue that they are going to be late, they will then only have 15 minutes after official start time to register or they will be eliminated from the competition.

 

7:  In the event of a dispute on the night which cannot be resolved to the players satisfaction then the Fixtures Secretary (if unavailable then any other member of the committee) should be contacted and whose decision on the night will be final and binding for all concerned.

 

8:  LEAGUE RULE 9 APPLIES THROUGHOUT THE INDIVIDUALS & PAIRS COMPETITION.

 

 

INDIVIDUALS & PAIRS GAMES RULES

 

DARTS INDIVIDUALS

 

1:  Best of three games of 501.

2:  The toss of a coin to decide who throws first for games 1 & 3.

3:  Individual General Rules to apply.

 

DARTS PAIRS

 

1:  Best of three games of 701.

2:  The toss of a coin to decide who throws first for games 1 & 3.

3:  Each player to throw alternately.

4:  Individual General Rules to apply.

 

DOMINOES PAIRS

 

1:  Best of three games 91 holes (3 streets)

2:  Games rules apply (except games rule No1)

3:  Individual General Rules apply.

 

CRIB PAIRS

 

1:  Best of three games 121 holes (4 streets)

2:  Games rules apply (except games rule No1)

3:  Individual General Rules apply

 

 

TEAM KNOCKOUT AND V PODMORE SHIELD RULES

 

1:  Best of three games (Darts, Dominoes & Crib) will decided the match winners.

 

2:  Each game of Darts to be best of three.

 

3:  The toss of a coin will determine who throws first in the first game. It will then alternate throughout the match as on a normal    

      Match night.

 

4:  Dominoes & Crib to be played as on a normal match night.

 

5:  Highest kills, least darts etc to be recorded.

 

6:  LEAGUE GENERAL RULE 9 APPLIES THROUGHOUT COMPETITION.

 

NUMBER OF TROPHIES ISSUED BY THE LEAGUE

 

Darts Winners and Runners Up receive   9 Trophies from the league.

 

Dominoes & Crib Winners and Runners Up receive 8 Trophies from the league.

 

Team Knockout Winners and Runners up receive 13 trophies from the league.

 

V Podmore Shield Winners receive Main Trophy only

 

Any team wanting extra trophies to the above amounts will have to pay the extra costs BEFORE the presentation or the extra trophies will not be presented to the team involved.

 

LEAGUE FEES

 

Fixtures Bond  £20    (returnable when team leaves the league providing that they have fulfilled all fixtures and competitions in the league and do not owe they league any monies).

 

To determine the amount each team is required to pay, the committee will estimate what it will cost to run the league for the season. This will then be divided by the number of teams in the league to give the figure each team will pay for the season

 

Teams will be liable for any excess expense above the original estimated costs.

 

League Signing on fee free Rule 1 of the League general Rules apply

 

Individual & Pairs fees Free

 

Each team MUST pay a minimum of £30 per meeting off their League Fees over the first five meetings and the balance of their fees at the sixth meeting.  Any team wishing to pay more than the minimum amount is free to do so.  Any team not paying £30 at any meeting will need to pay £60 at the next meeting; failure to do so will result in automatic expulsion from the league.
